Project 3 · Training
Beach Interpreters School
Short training — one in-person day plus an online module — for the people who already work the beach, so the education kit doesn't need an outside educator to be used.
What it is
A short training course — one in-person day plus an online module — for lifeguards, beach concessionaires, Green Key establishment staff and municipal personnel at certified beaches, so they can use the Project 1 kit without needing an outside educator.
Who it's for
Certified beach staff
Lifeguards
Beach concessionaires
Green Key establishment staff
Municipal personnel
Why it works
- It's what makes the kit sustainable. Without trained people, the kit stays in a cupboard.
- It builds on relationships that already exist with concessionaires — for example, the work already done in Punta Mogotes, Mar del Plata — and with the Green Key network.
- Joint certification is the incentive. A Blue Flag Argentina/Uruguay joint certificate serves the establishment as evidence in its own certification file, which is what secures attendance.
