Project 2 · People & storytelling
South Atlantic YRE Correspondents
A network of Young Reporters for the Environment covering their own Blue Flag beaches' season — with original stories, photos and short video published directly on Blue Flag News.
What it is
A network of Young Reporters for the Environment (YRE) — a programme already operating in Argentina — who cover the Blue Flag season of their own beaches and produce written stories, photos and short video that are published on Blue Flag News.
Why it works
- It builds on an existing network — schools already enrolled in YRE, not a structure that has to be created from nothing.
- It solves a real gap on this site. Blue Flag News currently carries coverage of Europe and North America/Brazil/Mexico. Argentina and Uruguay do not yet have a season story of their own.
- The photography problem solves itself. Photos produced by correspondents are original, with rights transfer included as part of enrolment — which structurally resolves the site's image-sourcing problem for South Atlantic coverage.

This project is financed with the proceeds of Blue Flag News. Subscriptions from national operators, municipalities and programme suppliers convert directly into environmental education on South Atlantic beaches.
